We were engaged to develop a compliance strategy that maximised the potential of a highly constrained site. The proposed design featured an open stairway spanning three levels without the inclusion of a sprinkler system.
To address this challenge, we implemented a tailored smoke compartmentation strategy, underpinned by a comprehensive Fire Safety Study. This was validated through advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling of the open stairway, demonstrating effective smoke management and confirming that safe egress for all occupants could be maintained.
