The Abbotsleigh Senior School Library is a landmark education project that redefines how students and staff connect, learn, and collaborate. The state-of-the-art facility combines flexible learning spaces, advanced technology, and welcoming communal areas, all unified by extensive internal timber cladding that adds warmth, character, and a strong design identity.
DC Partnership acted as the Fire Safety Engineers, developing compliance strategies that enabled the school and design team to realise their vision without compromise. Our work addressed challenges around fire compartmentation, safe egress within the multi-level learning environment, and the extensive use of combustible internal timber finishes, while retaining the openness and transparency of the design. The outcome is a safe, compliant, and inspiring facility that supports Abbotsleigh’s commitment to educational excellence.
