On the corner of South Dowling and Fitzroy Streets in Surry Hills, Bundarra pairs a retained 1860s Victorian terrace with a new glass and zinc addition. Designed by Smart Design Studio for Milligan Group, with interiors by Those Architects, it is now the headquarters of creative agency Howatson+Company.
DC Partnership provided Accessibility & Inclusive Design advice, working alongside the project team to make the building welcoming and usable for everyone who works in and visits it.
A heritage terrace on a sloping site brings original doorways, compact rooms and a rising approach from the street. DCP developed an accessibility and inclusive design strategy that supported equitable use of the building while allowing the original openings and fabric to remain, and kept that strategy current as the design evolved.
Bundarra was named Commercial Development winner at the 2025 UDIA NSW Awards for Excellence.
