The redevelopment of Homebush West Public School responds to the increasing demand for quality education in Sydney’s inner west. The project delivered new teaching spaces, a library, hall, and canteen, alongside upgraded outdoor play and learning areas. The result is a contemporary campus designed to support future-focused teaching while strengthening community connections.
DC Partnership provided Fire Safety Engineering, Accessibility, and BCA consultancy services. Our fire safety strategy addressed complex challenges including the design of an open stairway across four levels without sprinklers, and managing the large occupant load of the rooftop play space through performance-based solutions. From an accessibility perspective, we considered the diverse needs of students while aligning the design with SINSW Educational Facilities Standards and Guidelines (EFSG), ensuring equitable and dignified access throughout the campus. Our BCA team played a central role in overseeing the development, coordination, and implementation of compliance strategies across the project — from concept through to completion — ensuring a clear pathway for approvals and delivery.
The outcome is a safe, inclusive, and compliant school environment that supports learning, play, and community for generations to come.
