The Little Albion Hotel transforms a former convent and heritage guesthouse in Surry Hills into a luxury boutique hotel that blends character, charm, and contemporary comfort. The design embraces the building’s unique history and sloping site, delivering a one-of-a-kind hospitality experience in the heart of Sydney.
DC Partnership acted as the BCA and Accessibility and Inclusive Design consultants. Given the constraints of the heritage fabric and steep topography, we developed a tailored access strategy that minimised the impact on the building’s character. This included the considered use of rear lane entry points and sensitively integrated ramps to provide equitable and dignified access without overcrowding the design with accessibility features. Our BCA involvement ensured compliance across the redevelopment, supporting a seamless balance between heritage character, modern building standards, and inclusive guest experiences.
