The Warrumbungle National Park Visitors Centre sits at the heart of one of New South Wales’ most iconic landscapes, providing a gateway for visitors to explore the park’s natural and cultural heritage. The project delivers information, education, and community spaces within a design that is responsive to its remote setting and environmental context.
DC Partnership acted as the BCA and Accessibility and Inclusive Design consultants, with a focus on addressing the unique constraints of the site. Our role centred on ensuring that the selected materials, chosen to harmonise with the landscape, could also demonstrate compliance with building codes and fire performance requirements. We worked closely with the design team to balance these compliance demands with architectural intent, while developing an access strategy that ensured equitable and dignified use of the facility for all visitors.
The result is a safe, inclusive, and compliant visitor centre that reflects its setting, celebrating both the park’s identity and the communities it serves.
